Aftermath Liturgy is an innovative new theatrical work by acclaimed playwright and composer Min Kahng, developed through CATS’ New Works Commissioning Play Program.
Blending live music, storytelling, projected visuals, and intimate reflection, the play explores the intersections of religion, sexuality, belonging, and personal transformation with honesty, humor, and emotional depth.
About the Premiere
CATS proudly premiered Aftermath Liturgy on May 2, 2026, launching AAPI Heritage Month with a sold-out staged reading at Wesley United Methodist Church in San Jose Japantown.
The sanctuary setting created a uniquely resonant backdrop for this deeply personal exploration of faith and identity, adding emotional immediacy and authenticity to the audience experience.
